Changes in the blood vessels of the skin are small capillary or vein nets on the nose, cheeks, beard and malformations of the lower extremity vessels and other parts of the body, with a very clear distinction between subdermal and intradermal veins, red and bluish capillary networks.
These are usually hereditary predispositions, cardiovascular diseases, traumatic or similar consequences of surgery. In addition to the above, varicose diseases that follows pregnancy and childbirth are the main factors for the appearance of changes in the blood vessels of the foot skin.
Traditional methods are limited to electrocoagulation, sclerotherapy and surgical removal of veins and other blood vessels. All of these methods have serial essential deficiencies such as hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation (skin pigmentation), allergic reactions to injected drugs in sclerotherapy.
The most effective method for treating blood vessels is called Nd: YAG laser. The emission of this type of laser allows effective treatment of enlarged capillaries, star hemangiomas and small dermal venous networks, without any damage of other structures.
Therapeutic effect of the laser is based on the unique feature of laser light to interact with the treated tissue. Laser removal of non-aesthetic blood vessels, using a unique technology of 1064nm Nd: YAG lasers, emits light impulses, whose energy absorbs hemoglobin in the blood. The energy is transformed into heat that leads to blood coagulation and specific "welding" of the walls of unwanted blood vessels. The result is a blood vessels removal and the blood flows to the veins that lie deep beneath the surface of the skin.
These are visible, separated or mesh capillaries of the body and face, spider shaped veins diameter up to 1.5 mm, veins on the legs 1-3 mm in diameter, congenital or acquired hemangiomas, etc.
Usually patients describe this feeling as a mild needle stinging. A special cooling system reduces the unpleasant feeling and prevents the warming of the healthy skin.
Duration of the treatment depends on the number and density of the treated blood vessels. For example, in the case of star hemangioma, treatment lasts a few seconds. This is not the case with the treatment of a large number of capillaries at the lower extremities, it takes more time.
The number of treatments depends on the type, color, configuration and number of blood vessels. Often, two treatments are sufficient to achieve the result, with the second treatment being performed no later than 3 to 4 weeks after the first treatment. In cases where more blood vessels form a capillary network, it may be necessary to have more than 2 treatments. However, decrease of capillaries is noticeable after each individual treatment.
Each person has individual characteristics. When treating the usual cases of an individual blood vessel (for example on the nostrils) or those that are star-shaped, blood vessels disappear within a period of 2-3 weeks. In a large number of blood vessels, the result comes gradually with every next treatment.
Right after the procedure there is a slight redness with a small swelling in the treated zone for a day or two. The blood vessel itself becomes dark after treatment and for 2-3 to 4 weeks is absorbed from the body and disappears. After the treatment a cream with a protective factor must be used, especially during the warmer part of the year, in order to avoid hyperpigmentation. Corrective make up can be applied to the treated zone.
Treated blood vessels do not appear again, but if there is a predisposition, it is possible that a new blood vessel will appear around the treated zone. These blood vessels can also be treated.
